Flower Size

Found in Venezuela without locational data as a medium to just large sized orchid with rather stout, leafy in the upper part stems carrying 6, broadly lanceolate to elliptic-lanceolate, acuminate, stout leaves that blooms on a terminal, capitate, sessile, 2.2" [5.5 cm] long, rachis glabrous, densely many flowered inflorescence with elliptic, acute to acumiante, hyaline margines, 3 times longer than the ovary floral bracts.

"Similar to E garayi but this species has a lip longer than wide and rectangular in the lower half, saggitate triangular above and thickened in the center, almost flat at the base, the calli are fusiform and joined together apically through elongate apical projections.

This species, E garayi and E cephalophorus all have an obscurely bilobed lip near the middle and fusiform, ovoid to ellipsoid lip calli, laterally more or less flattened and decurrent onto the disc. E cephalophora is the only species of the 3 with a lip wider than long." Szlatchetko & Kolanowska 2023 " Szlatchetko & Kolanowska 2023
