Flower Size .56" [1.4 cm]

Found in northern Thailand in deciduous forests at elevations around 130 to 700 meters as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with erect stems carrrying 2 to 3, basal, adpressed to the soil, ovate, acute leaves grading above into 3 to 6, erect but apically spreading, lanceolate, acuminate sterile bracts that blooms in the later summer and early fall on an erect, terminal, glabrous, 4 to 9.2" [10 to 23 cm] long, lax, 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence with a .8 to 2.6" [2 to 6.5 cm] long, rachis carrying ovate-lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts that sometimes have denticulate margins.

This species, H humistrata, H reniformis, H porphyricola, H humidicola, H siamensis and H poilanei form a group of similar and possibly conspecific species and need more study to see if they can mainain their separate species status.
