LATE EARLY

Common Name The Khao Yai Nervilia [An area of Thailand

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in Thailand and Yunnan province of China in evergreen broadleaved forests at elevations of 700 to 800 meters as a small sized, warm growing terrestrial with an oblate, thick tuber giving rise to a single, glabrous, green to purple red, angular leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, 1.6 to 3.6" [4 to 9 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence

Similar to the widespread Nervilia adolphi N punctata species alliance of Section Linervia, but it is otherwise readily distinguished by its broad, oblong-obovate lip with a saccate base and obscure, rounded side lobes below the middle, and by the striking colouration of the disk.
