Common Name The Cobra-Like Pleurothallis

Found in Panama at elevations around 600 to 900 meters as a miniature to small sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with purple, slender, erect ramicauls enveloped by a sheath below the middle and 2 others at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, narrowly elliptical, narrowly obtuse to subacute, gradually narrowing below into the cuneate, sessile base leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on a short, arising through a spathe, successively single flowered inflorescence with thin, tubular, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.

"Characterized by the narrowly oblong, thick, narrowly sessile leaves with purple ramicauls about the same length and a single flower. The dorsal sepal is purple spotted and deeply cucullate over the dark purple, deeply codate lip with lobes flanking the column and purple, finely lacerate petals descending from either side."
