Found in Costa Rica at elevations aorund 900 to 1050 meters as a mini-miiature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with thin, rigid ramicauls enveloped by 3, amplexicaul sheaths and carrying a single, apical, coriaceous, oblong to oblong-elliptic, obtuse apically, cuneate below into the baser leaf that blooms in the winter on a reclining, peduncle setiform, to .4" {1 cm] long, 1 to 2 flowered inflorescence..
Very similar to and often cited as a synonym of P sanchoi but P gonioglossa has a wider column without the circular collar that P sanchoi has. They also differ in the lip with P sanchoi having a deep thin central channel towards the lip base.
