"Characterized by the shape of the inflorescence and the hairiness of the inner faces of the sepals. It is s part of the P hians group, especially close to P fusca, P fasciata, P pellifeloidis and P brachystele but differs from them all by the very size of the plants, the petals about 4 times shorter than the dorsal sepal, by the very differently shaped, pubescent, irregular margined lip that is 1 and a half times longer than the petals and the very large winged column."
