Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil in patches of humid Atlantic coastal forests at elevations around 900 meters as a mini miniature sized, warm growing, caespitose epiphyte with terete, green ramicauls enveloped by 1 to 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, green, oval, rounded and tridenticulate apically, attenuate below into the pseudopetiolate base leaf that blooms on an erect, arising from near the apex of the ramicaul through a short spathe, peduncle filiform, twice as long as the leaf, 1" [2,5 cm] long, provided with 2 very short sterile bracts, rachis fractiflex, .12"[ 3 mm] long, successively single, to 4 flowered inflorescence with tubular, acute, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
" Similar to P deuterodecurva and P freyi but differs from the first in the form of the leaves, oval vs elliptical, the length of the peduncle, twice the length of the leaf vs slightly shorer than the leaf, insignificant floral bracts vs larger, asynsepal that is 2 times narrower, petals acute at the apex vs round, the shape of the lip, swollen elliptical and trilobed vs entire oblong, labellum margins irregular to finely toothed vs entire and the color of the flowers. It differs from P freyi in the plant half the size, noticeably wider oval leaves vs narrowly elliptical and insignificant floral bracts vs and a much smaller flower .16" [4 mm] vs .24 to .28" [6 to 7 mm] and the irregular margin of the lip vs entire."
