Found in Espirito Santo state of Brazil in patches of humid Atlantic coastal forests at elevations around 1400 meters as a very mini-miniature sized, cool growing, caespitose epiphyte with cylindrical, green ramicauls enveloped by 1 to 2 thin, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, fleshy, green tinted with red, obovate, imperceptially tridenticulate apically, attenuate below into the pseudopetiolate base leaf that blooms on 2 erect, arising from near the apex of the ramicaul through a very short spathe, peduncle filiform, somewhat shorter than the leaf, .34 to .42" [8.5 to 10.5 mm] long, provided with a very short sterile bract, rachis fractiflex, .08"[2 mm] long, successively single, to 6 flowered inflorescence with tubular, acute, shorter than the pedicel floral bracts.
" Similar to P cipoensis, P freyi, P neonymphalis and P savioi but differs from the all in flower size and color. Closest to P freyi but it differs int the shorter branches, a shorter inflorescence and bearing only 4 flowers vs 8, secund and dense vs loose, much smaller flowers .16' in length vs ,24 to .28" in length and differently colored. P freyi has brown sepals on the outside and yellow inside, purple petals and a brown labellum. P naimekei has a much shorter pediceland ovary, keeled sepals and a 2 winged comlumn."
