SUBGENUS Pleurobotryum [Barb. Rod.] Luer 1986

Characterized by the creeping rhizome and terete to compressed leaves longer than the ramicaul. The racemose inflorescence arises from the base of the leaf without an annulus. The lateral sepals areconnate to above the middle. The lip is spathulate, similar to the genus Dryadella and the blade is angled at the base witha pair of calli on the disc and the long claw is concave and bilobulate at the base. The column is elongated with a ventral stigma and has the anther more or less hooded.
