Common Name The Java Plocoglottis
Flower Size 1 1/5" [3 cm]
Found in Malaysia, Java and Sumatra as a medium sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial near rivers in lowland and lower montane forests at elevations of sealevel to 300 meters with sheath-bearing terete pseudobulbs when young carrying a single apical, plicate, elliptic, acuminate, acute, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, to 2' [60 cm] long, finely pubescent, successively several flowered inflorescence with lanceolate floral bracts.
In Java the fruits of this species along with fruits [not necassarily all together] from Hippeophyllum scortechnii, Bulbophyllum vaginatum and Dendrobium crumenatum are boiled and the juice is applied into ones ears for an earache
