Common Name The Folded Lip Encyclia

Flower Size 1.4" [3.5 cm]

Found in Colombia and Ecuador at lower to medium elevations as a medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with pyriform pseudobulbs and carrying 2 to 3 leaves that blooms in the late spring on a 3' [90 cm] long, simple to paniculate, several to many flowered inflorescence with fragrant long-lasting, nodding flowers.

E maderoi, E magdalenae, E edithiana, E garzonensis and E expansa are all considered to be this species by Kew. I have kept them all separate for now.
