Characterized by the stems of moderate length that are often swollen to form clavate pseuodobulbs carrying deciduous, leaf sheathed leaves that are held in the upper 2/3's of the stem, and bloom on short to long, arising from the apical part, occuring in the dry season, inflorescence carrying large showy flowers with an entire lip with a short mentum.
